Agricultural University of Athens

AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS

The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) offers high-level undergraduate and postgraduate Education and Research in Agricultural Science, and its vision is to achieve Educational and Research Excellence so as to occupy a dynamic position in the international academic environment.
True to its traditional role of responding to the productive and developmental needs of the Greek economy and society, the AUA intervenes and develops in line with the development and orientation of modern education and science. Moreover, it is in continuous contact with society so as to make proposals and provide solutions to problems that arise within the agri-nutrition sector.

Dr. Koar Chorozian, Postdoctoral Researcher

Team Member - WP3

Dr. Koar Chorozian is a Biologist (BSc, MSc), holding a PhD on Industrial Biotechnology. Her research interests focus on the employment of molecular biology techniques for the production of microbial enzymes in heterologous hosts, together with microbiology methods for their large – scale production. She has worked mainly with fungal oxidoreductases, as well as the development of strategies for the enzyme-mediated isolation of nanocellulose from lignocellulosic biomass. Her work is documented in 6 papers in peer-reviewed journals: (>40 citations, Hirsch (h)-index= 4; Scopus database) and >15 presentations in international and national conference proceedings.

Dr. Georgios Bekiaris, Postdoctoral Researcher

Team Member - WP3

Dr. Georgios Bekiaris is an Agricultural Scientist (BSc, MSc), holding a PhD in Soil science and Quality. His research interests are related to the valorisation of agroindustrial wastes for the production high-value products, the application of analytical and spectroscopic techniques for the identification of fungal species and the characterisation of lignocellulosic substrates, as well as the use of multivariate statistical analysis for the calibration of models predicting significant properties of a wide range of materials. His work is documented in 22 papers in peer-reviewed journals: (>600 citations, Hirsch (h)-index= 15; Scopus database) and >20 presentations in international and national conference proceedings.
